Thinking about becoming a surrogate
You might be ready to apply, or you might just be curious. Either way, we'd love to talk. At My Donor Connection, we'll get to know you, answer your questions, and help you understand how a surrogacy journey could fit into your life.
Your preferences matter, from the intended parents you connect with to the compensation package you want to propose.
MDC coordinates gestational surrogacy. This means carrying a pregnancy for intended parents using an embryo created through IVF, without using your own eggs.
A few things to know before applying
We welcome applicants ages 21–40 who are U.S. citizens and have had at least one healthy, full-term pregnancy with an uncomplicated delivery. A BMI of 30 or below is preferred. We’ll get to know your history during the application process, and your fertility clinic will determine medical eligibility.
Not sure whether you meet every guideline? You’re welcome to ask. We’d rather have a conversation than leave you guessing.
Financial stability
Surrogacy compensation can make a meaningful difference for your family. We also want you to feel financially secure before beginning this journey, without depending on a future match to meet everyday needs.
Some assistance programs are reviewed individually. Applicants currently receiving SNAP benefits, also known as food stamps, are not eligible for our program. If you have questions about your situation, we’re happy to talk privately.
Other practical requirements
You’ll need to be ready to:
- Complete medical and psychological screening.
- Participate in a background check. We also conduct background checks on intended parents.
- Attend appointments and follow the clinic’s medication instructions, including injectable medications.
- Abstain from recreational drugs, alcohol, and nicotine throughout medical screening and pregnancy.
- Have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
What would your journey look like
- Get to know us. Start with the prescreen and application. We'll talk about your questions, review your information, and help gather the records needed for the next steps.
- Explore your package and a match. We'll discuss your preferences and help you connect with intended parents whose expectations fit with yours.
- Complete screening and legal agreements. The fertility clinic determines your screening and medical eligibility. Your own attorney reviews the agreement with you.
- Follow your clinic's plan. Once the required clearances are in place, the clinic guides medications, embryo transfer, and early monitoring. It will tell you when to move to your local OB or other pregnancy-care provider.
- Prepare for delivery and recovery. We'll stay connected as you prepare for the birth and through postpartum recovery, helping coordinate the support included in your agreement.
What would you like to know
You don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Ask us a question, or start the prescreen when you're ready.
